Monkey Puzzle House has two main producer engineers; studio owner and manager Rupert Matthews and the much experienced Tom Peters.
Rupert and Tom have collectively worked in all facets of studio engineering and production. Available in their individual capacities to engineer and/or produce your seession or prodject, it is also not unusual to find them working side by side.

Rupert’s career as an engineer started 17 years ago. In that time he has been fortunate enough to have gained knowledge and experience from the likes of Glyn Johns (Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Eagles, Eric Clapton, and The Clash to name but a few), Elliot Mazer (Neil Young, The Band and Janis Joplin), and Sean Lynch (Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Gary Numan) amongst others.
Since setting up Monkey Puzzle House in 2007, Rupert has had pleasure in engineering, producing and hosting a huge variety of bands and artists from the classic Bonzo Do Doo-Dah Band, to the likes of the Cradle Of Filth through to the modern progressive phenomenon that is Porcupine Tree.

Tom Peters is both an engineer producer and a professional studio and touring session drummer. As a result of his talents, he has an ever increasing repertoire of achievements.
Tom's work rate, depth of knowledge and the quality of his work has seen him employed to engineer nearly all forms of music from American rock to Brit pop, to authentic Zimbabwean Jit, Indian Folk, Caribbean Reggae to Atonal Classical and then plenty more of everything else in between.
Toms competence with instruments and the studio equipment, combined with his excitement and willingness to experiment with sound make him an asset to work with in any studio situation. Recent engineering, mixing, and production roles have him credited by: The Whybirds (produced, engineered, mixed), 7 Questions (produced, engineered, mixed), Sarah Griffin (produced, engineered, mixed), DMTs (produced, engineered, mixed). Simon Jaymes (engineered, mixed).
Other engineering includes: The Bonzo Dog Do Dah Band, engineering for Elliot Mazer, Porcupine Tree, Cradle Of Filth, The Towers of London, RBK to name but a few.
Tom has also toured internationally as a drummer having played with New Young Pony Club, Remi Nicole, Cocknbullkid, Jonnyland, The Damn Shames. This included both single video appearances and television appearances such as on ‘Later with Jools Holland’ and ‘T4’ etc.

Hugo is the studio’s wild card engineer.
With an amiable character and good ears, Hugo can bring his talents to the table in more ways than one. With his sister, Bonnie the cat, they have provided inspiration to many a studio session.
Their greatest success to date is with Porcupine Tree having resulted in Bonnie earning her own self-titled track on ‘The Incident’ album and now having a video also sporting her name.
Hugo and Bonnie reside as resident engineers at the studio. They are available at no extra fee.
